Columbus Lowndes Development LINK wins SEDC awards
Columbus-Lowndes Development LINK received a Special Judges Award, at the Communications Awards ceremony at the Southern Economic Development Council’s (SEDC) Annual Conference held August 14-17, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.
The winning entry was the organization’s GTR Global Industrial Aerospace Park Movie, which was entered into the Electronic Multimedia category. All entries were judged on graphic appeal, clarity and appropriateness of message, positioning and differentiation and content.
Marketing Alliance, Inc. created the GTR Aerospace Park movie.

Ponca City Development Authority chooses Marketing Alliance
The Ponca City Development Authority, Ponca City, Oklahoma, has selected Marketing Alliance to redesign their website. Ponca City is located in northern Oklahoma and has a population of 25,000 with approximately 100,000 people in the market area. It is home to a ConocoPhillips refinery.

Marketing Alliance supports Altus/SW OK economic development
Marketing Alliance has recently begun working with the Altus/Southwest Area Economic Development Corporation to promote economic development in the southwest Oklahoma region.
Marketing Alliance is creating a new identity for the agency, shooting video and still photography and building a website. Altus, a progressive community with 20,000 residents, is home to the Altus Air Force Base and is a regional hub for healthcare and retail. Altus is also heavily involved in the agriculture industry.

Marketing Alliance opens Tulsa office
Marketing Alliance, Inc. has opened an office in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Tulsa office will be managed by Bob Oertel, a Kansas City area native who serves as Marketing Alliance’s visualization director, overseeing the 3D animations and rendering operations of the firm. A graduate of the University of Kansas, he is a former lead designer at Infusion Design (Bonner Springs, KS) and was president of Oertel Design prior to joining Marketing Alliance. Oertel has over 18 years of experience in digital illustrations, 3D animations, renderings and video merge technology.
“We’re excited about having a presence in Tulsa,” said John Abbate, company president, “The markets we service continue to grow and Tulsa is perfectly located near our clients in Oklahoma and the Midwest region.”
Marketing Alliance’s work on behalf of Sumter (SC) Development Board was recognized recently by the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC) with a series of awards, including a Special Judges Award for multi-media communications.

Oklahoma economic development agency selects Marketing Alliance
The Ardmore Development Authority, Ardmore, Oklahoma, has selected Marketing Alliance to create technology-based marketing services for the economic development organization. Marketing Alliance will be building a new website and interactive virtual tour as well as shooting videography, still photography and panoramic photography in the southeast Oklahoma city.

Columbus, Mississippi recognized by Site Selection Magazine
Site Selection magazine has ranked Columbus, Mississippi 7th in the nation among micropolitan areas in attracting industry in 2009. In a recent article in the Columbus (MS) Dispatch, it was noted that the city had climbed from 14th in 2008. According to the newspaper, Policom defines a micropolitan as containing an urbanized area with more than 10,000 people but less than 50,000. To determine rankings, the company calculates growth rates, consistency trends, industry averages and other factors.

Marketing Alliance hires new marketing representatives
Kathleen Williams and Mary-Morgan Limperis have joined Marketing Alliance, Inc. as marketing representatives. They will be responsible for online sales meetings, database management and social media coordination.
Williams is a 2009 graduate of the University of Mississippi with a bachelor degree in marketing and a minor in broadcast journalism. A Columbus, Mississippi native, she recently completed a marketing and public relations fellowship with Southern Living magazine.
Limperis is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. A 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama with a bachelor degree in marketing, she previously completed a sales internship at Quintessentially in London, England.

JSU project management firm chooses Marketing Alliance
UniDev LLC, a Bethesda, Maryland-based firm that is managing the Jackson State University Development Foundation's area redevelopment project, recently chose Marketing Alliance to create a 3D sales presentation to help market the project. The JSU project includes building new single family homes and townhouses in the 40-acre area located between the JSU campus and downtown Jackson, Mississippi.

Columbus Lowndes LINK announces GTR Global Aerospace Park
Joe Higgins, CEO of the Columbus Lowndes Development LINK, today announced plans for the GTR Global Aerospace Park, a major economic development project adjacent to the Golden Triangle Regional Airport. Sumter Economic Development's marketing products win awards
ATLANTA, GA (August 24, 2009) The Sumter Development Board received the Special Judges Award at the Communications Awards ceremony at the Southern Economic Development Council’s (SEDC) Annual Conference held August 15-18, 2009 in Point Clear, Alabama.
Marketing Alliance, Inc. in Jackson, Mississippi created the marketing tools for the Sumter economic development organization.
The winning entry was for the organization's arrangement of multi-media communications including "American Spirit, Global Edge" Pocket Folder, "American Spirit - Global Edge" Sumter, South Carolina Community Videos, and the "American Spirit, Global Edge" Kiosk, and Sumter Smarter Growth Initiative Annual Report. All entries were judged on graphic appeal, clarity and appropriateness of message, positioning and differentiation and content.
“The competition was stiff this year with over 100 entries, as economic development organizations throughout our region submitted expertly prepared materials,” said SEDC President Gene Stinson. “The entry submitted by the Sumter Development Board was outstanding and captured the attention of the judges to garner its award.”

Plasma Waste Recycling, Inc. chooses Marketing Alliance
Huntsville, AL – Plasma Waste Recycling, Inc. has teamed with Marketing Alliance to create a 3D animated virtual presentation of PWR’s patent-pending technology. PWR’s process uses high-temperature thermal plasma to convert municipal solid waste (MSW) to syngas, molten metal and vitreous slag. Air emissions are lower than the combustion of natural gas, and are easily within US EPA standards. The syngas is used to generate electricity which is sold to the power grid. The molten metal is cast as scrap steel and the slag is cast as building material aggregate or spun into mineral wool. Both are sold as byproducts, generating additional revenue. The virtual presentation is scheduled for completion in early August, 2009.

The city of McComb, Mississippi and Pike County Economic Development Foundation have jointly hired Marketing Alliance to produce a web-based interactive navigation system to promote the southwest Mississippi county and city. The contract includes a Pike County overview presentation, still photography, video and panoramic photography. These marketing initiatives are part of phase one of a possible three-phase program to create a multi-faceted marketing system for the area.

Cynthia Cooper, CEO, of the CooperGroup, previously served as Vice President and Chief Audit Executive for MCI until July 2004. Marketing Alliance, Inc. has hired Katherine Scanlon as production manager. Scanlon has a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Georgia and masters degree in business administration from the University of Mississippi. She has over six years experience in marketing strategy and brand management with CellularSouth and Cooke Douglas Farr Lemons.
